Completely agree. But take it a step further. Instead of continuing to try to wage a war that won't offend global sensibilities, we turn the dogs loose and roll through, crushing our enemies until they don't feel like getting to their feet. The actual root of terrorism is Iran. We know this and Iran's leadership is very nervous about that knowledge. They speak very differently when they know the western press is not present.
We back out now, the fat lady can start singing.
Bin Laden made the prediction that America hasn't the stomach for this fight, I want to prove him to be dead wrong.

Yes, I agree.
Believe it or not, "Liberals" don't want to see the U.S. fail any more than anyone else does. We just have different ideas about what is actually happening on the ground and what is realistic to expect out of this situation.
If we pull out of Iraq, no matter what happens, the Islamic extremists will spin it as a victory for them and we will spin it as a victory for us and we will both be preaching to the choir.
That's the catch here. If we stay, people keep dying and terrorists continue to be spawned like rabbits. If we leave, it turns into a PR victory for the terrorists.
Then again, it's PR victory for the terrorists already because everyone in the world already thinks the U.S. is fighting a war it can't win. The only exception is the 28% of Americans who still agree with Bush.
So where does that leave us? That's the question.

Some may think to call it a victory, but ultimately, you can't control what people think. Radical Islam, radical environmentalism, cults, even radical Christians. They are radical, so they are dangerous.
No one can stop radical thinking.
It has good points too. Martin Luther King Jr. could be considered a radical. I hope the US can stay to at least provide a shelter for this type of postive radical thinking. But many would call me a wishful thinker.
Happy New Year to the troops.

al-Qaeda has little connection to Iraq and may actually have terrorist training camps down in the Sudan and Somalia. The Soviets are no longer involved in Afghanistan and I feel that the infighting will lead to a civil war, at least guerilla warfare, and the country will end up being the next Somalia. I imagine they will get a fundamentalist government or socialist government and then Pakistan will invade. India may be dragged into the mess. With their nuclear weapons arsenal, who knows what will happen?
As for Iraq, I think they will get it under control.

If radical islam is the head of the snake how do you stop these terror attacks..over in a country where theyre coming into to fight, or maybe in n.korea, how about we go to iran..when does it end..we just need to bring our troops back and protect this nation from the inside. step up intelligence, stop making excuses, stop the con vs lib crap dem vs repub crap and become one nation. I wouldnt want to be over there fighting a fight that will never end. How can it end? HOW? How many of us will die? Were fighting an idea not a nation. Can you defeat an idea? Can you stop someone who is willing to die and ready to die for their idea? We can kill 9 million shiites sunni insurgents whoever, but we'll never kill the idea. So we might as well withdraw from iraq. Admit it was a mistake, swallow our pride and get the hell out.
I love all these people who say "yeah stay and fight until its over, kick butt and take names etc.." lol lol lmao...i wonder if they'll be singing that same song when the draft is reinstated because of such a severe loss in troops and well below average enlistment numbers. You all for the fight, pushing the remote, living comfortably...may not be you, may even be one of your loved ones..then say "stay the course". lol Better yet, since the support for the fight is so great why not enlist buddies? why dont you die for what you believe in?

Yes, they will, and so will the rest of the world, even our allies. If we pull out, it will make us look like stupid cowards, and losers. (just like in Vietnam). We will be made the laughing stock of the world, and it WILL carry into history. This cannot be allowed to happen, simply on the whims of unreasonable, uneducated spouter's of right and wrong, usually being liberal. I am so sad right now, that some American's are showing their hatred towards all that is good about the war in Iraq. Mr. Bush's, only mistake was believing that the American people would stand with their country against a brutal enemy, like terrorists, instead of cowering against them! What has happened to this great country? If we thought the way these anarchist liberals did, during the Revolutionary war, and of 1812, where would America be now?
Answer: Still a colony of an unjust England, as well as slaves to it.

Among the many things truly at stake in Iraq, consider that if the coalition forces pull out without having established a viable govenment strong enough to support itself then Iran and Syria -- the two key players who have been subterfugally working to destabilize the region, would then be in position to take over the world's largest oil producing wells. Two countries who support terrorism, in charge of the world economy. Yes, in time, we in the States could "Probably" come up with alternatives to oil, but until then, they would kill us financially as well as literally. The "Free" west would fall and be taken over by loccus' and cockroaches preaching Islam or death by the sword.

major victory huh?
3000 to hundreds of thousands dead......what person would consider the people who lost hundreds of thousands, as the victors??
NONE
the only way for peace to come to a situation, is if one party decides enough violence is enough.
that is usually the answer that the more civilized party, in the conflict, comes to.
people who feel backed into a corner, and feel their way of life is threatened, don't ever stop fighting.
it would have been easier to let Iran kill him, and then step in with the UN and take control of setting up democracy. we would probably have even better relations with Iran afterward.
but no, fundies on both sides of the fence don't think logically, like that!

Yes, unfortunately, pulling out would look like we failed. And very likely would be an encouraging sign to terrorize the US. The Iraq government under Saddam's control was supporting those radicals intent on undermining the American way of life.

Radical Islam saw the November elections as a victory for them, of course they would claim victory in Iraq. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either delusional or hopelessly ignorant of what is going on.
