Women shouldn't vote for a woman just because she is a woman. Vote for her if she has the same political beliefs as you. I hope women don't vote for Hillary just because she is a woman.

I am often dismayed by the stereotyping of women when it comes to considering them for public office, especially the Presidency. Some of the most ignorant comments refer to a woman being too emotional or refer to PMSing. They never stop to think that if a woman is hamstrung by out of control emotions or PMS they certainly wouldn't be in a position politically to run for office in the first place. Talking about a woman having PMS with her finger on the button is about as relevant as thinking a man would be surfing porn while waiting for the launch codes. But then there are still a lot of Neanderthals around to whom thinking seems to be a challenge in general. Sorry guys, I DO know you all aren't Neanderthals.
Dysfunctionality is a catch-all phrase that gets misused over and over. It's often used as an excuse for bad behavior. The women leaders of other countries have left wonderful legacies - Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher, there are many. A woman could indeed bring something to the table that many men are lacking. An inborn ability to read people for one thing. Also, multi-tasking has been shown to be a trait that women excel at as well. I won't vote for a woman simply because of her gender. But, I do see one very viable woman candidate that is highly qualified, yes, talking about Hillary. I could be swayed by a candidate who better reflects my stand on the issues, and if Hillary doesn't meet that and someone else does I will support that candidate instead.
I worry about my children and future grandchildren as well, but all we can do is raise them right, teach them to be aware of the world around them, and give them the support they need. It just doesn't seem enough sometimes does it?

I hope I have the opportunity to vote for Hillary. With Palosi as third in line, that's a good start. I just think that there may be a few too many people who would not vote for a woman because she's a woman at this point, which is very sad as we're on the eve of 2007. You make good points.

You truly have some thought provoking points and it appears as though you have a grasp on a certain type of political upbringing, maybe you should run. You don't necessarily have to have a political background as you see with the current presidency...it's a challenge and you can't please everyone, so even if a woman where to be elected to president, not only would that woman have my vote based on her political tenacity, but she would have my appreciation for having the courage to actually make positive changes within America. Take care and be Safe...(smiles)

I would of course vote for a woman but not HiIary. I don't dislike her, but she has not shown any real leadership skills. I don't think she is any worse than most of the men politicians however.
I do agree that women could run the world so we would not have so many needless wars like the one we are embroiled in now.

I may vote for a woman president someday, just not Hillary. She has too much baggage. Besides, she couldn't even figure out her husband was cheating on her in the next room. I would've kicked his silly butt to the curb!

I don't think we could have a woman president. Think about it. Think about who we are dealing with now, do you think that they would actually deal with a woman president? They don't even let women vote in some of the countries that we are dealing with now. Im sure that a woman can do just as well as a man in that position, but we have to remember that not all countries in the world feel that men and women are equal. We would be seen as weak and even more vulnerable for attack.

I vote for the candidate, not because they're female or male.
And I really don't like Hillary.... :O She wouldn't get my vote just because she's female, and I know a lot of other women who feel the same way.
ps- I'm not a Republican, I'm an Independant, and have voted for candidates from both parties for years.

Maybe a Real Woman.
But certainly not a rabid half-woman like Pelosi or Clinton.
