They didn't attend attend the family funeral out of respect for the family. The State funeral is scheduled for tuesday, which I am sure they will both attend.

the funeral hasn't taken place yet has it? last night was just the bringing of the casket to DC.
besides, cheney was there as an honorary pall bearer per Ford's wishes -- he was ford's chief of staff back in the day.
its not wise to have the vp and pres together in open like that.

The funeral is not till tuesday jan. 2nd he is lying in state for 5 days.
