wow... that's a hard one. my project just won state in the high school level but I think it may be a little hard for you (it was hard for me too do!!!)... umm...
how about what bean plant grows the tallest... okay yea that may be a little too stupid... you can take bacteria samples and see which cleaner is the best...
you can see what plant grows the tallest using the same plant and watering it with an acid (vinergar), base (bleach, you can research about that b/c i'm pretty sure bleach is too strong), and a neutral (water)

simply put, bugs usually win, and very few people usually have those because they think bugs are gross and won't touch them. maybe examine how ants building a colony react to different obstacles

you could try the paper towel test(to see the stronger one) or the rusty magnet one( when you see if a magnet can carry rusty item or if the magnet can cary normal metal items rusted).
