I see it everywhere, especially in museums, shops etc. I assume it's related to hearing difficulties, but what exactly does it mean? Also there's another one with the letter "T", and a diagonal line through it. Appreciate your help. Thank you.

I am an Audiologist, and although I can't find documentation to verify it, the "T" probably stands for TTY (the Teletype device used by the communication impaired).

Deaf.
I assume it's there to point out that the museum has some services for the deaf. Like written copies information about themuseum piece.
