What are your good memories of the 70s? TV, food, toys, etc...

I can remember being allowed to stay up 'late' (10.30pm - goodness me!) to watch Tales of the Unexpected...loved it even though it sometimes terrified me!

Most of the 70s seems depressing because of a bad economy and a lot of strange clothes and weird ideas. The cars were hideous, everything seemed to have ugly colors, and the TV shows seem so dreary when you watch the re-runs.

But, I would have to say that the best music came from that era, if you liked pop or rock music. Brilliant bands and musicians.
Led Zeppelin was my favorite because when Jimmy Page was on his game, his guitar work puts chills down your spine. And that band was not political or a slave to the record companies.

My parents used to wake me up at 11:30 on Saturday nights (I was only 8 or 9 at the time) to watch the first season of Saturday Night Live with Chevy Chase, John Bellushi...etc..with them.

It was awsome.

That is my favorite memory of the 70s.
