Bear Mountain? In So Cal? New Year's day? With SNOW? Oh hell ya, it's gonna be one of the most crowded days at Bear Mountain, worse than Disneyland's Space Mountain.

Probably not in the east. I have been out riding a couple of times this year and there is nobody on the trails. Then again each mountain seems to only hae 1 or 2 trails open.

I hope this isn't the start of the global warming trend...

Not usually. I lived in a ski resort for almost 10 years and most everyone is too hung over on New Years Day to be on the hill.

Take advantage of it!

They will by the afternoon. If you go as soon as the lifts open, you'll likely be (semi) alone.
