many gas tanks have drain plugs that can be removed with a wrench some do not and would require the tank to be removed to drain them! since that can be a total pain to do, I would prbably drain the tank as much as possible then find the very lowest spot on the tank and punch a very small hole in the tank using a sharp punce about the size of an ice pick to drain what was left then repair the hole with some gas tank patch epoxy found in most auto stores.

Wash it out very well, because it may contain dirt if i was laying around a junk yard. then just let it drain and air dry. Shouldn't take too long. just don't put heat or flame to it for obvious reasons.

If possible, spray the inside of the tank with WD40 (the WD stands for "Water Dispersal"). The WD40 will stick to the tank and the water will bead. Then let the water and excess WD40 drain.

I would just drop the tank and put a new one in...you have no idea how long it has been sitting.....the tank could have rust and lord nows what..do you want this crap clogging up fuel jets ? Fuel filters.? Stuck on the side of the road in the cold and rain with a van full of screaming kids...

STP Gas Treatment if the tank is installed already. This is great stuff - way more effective than "dry gas".

go bye a bottle of Heat. and poor that in your tank. It is much cheaper than STP and is designed exactly for water in your tank.

Go to any good auto parts store. They sell stuff that will combine with the water and it will burn out. Some times called "Drygas."
