I am spending new years eve alone by choice, and no...I am not a misery guts!!
I used to go to a party every year and sometimes would travel a long way. After several years I realised that too often I would find myself a long way from home with people I really didn't know that well celebrating something with the only significance being...a number!
I realised then that New Years parties are just about getting drunk and really not much else.
May I suggest that you do not feel bad about being on your own tonight but that you get a reasonably early night and tomorrow go shopping early. Have breakfast out. Look at all thehungover people and pat yourself on the back!!! Its a lot more fun than you think!!! Must be my fifteenth year now...still enjoying it!!!

Im not as i have children but i fully understand your question as i have been in this situation before.... i just hate New Years Eve.... best to be alone than with false people kissing you as if they really love/like you etc....
I shall wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2007.... be happy

I'm not sure yet, Ive been invited to go out with friends. I'm not a big drinker and and not sure if I have the patience to deal with a bunch of drunks tonight, so I guess it depends upon how patient I'm feeling In eight hours.

I would be but a friend's coming round. My husband is away. Put on the radio, listen to one of the parties, Virgin's got one. Have a drink and celebrate all the good bits of 2006.
