I think people waste too much time listening to garbage. Popular music is very poorly done musically and lyrically. Some people will probably hate me for this but come on

I'm Fergalicious (so delicious)
My body stay vicious
I be up in the gym just working on my fitness
He's my witness (oooh wee)

They want my treasure so they get their pleasures from my photo
you could see me, you can't squeeze me

What is attractive about this music besides the body image behind it?

Thats why its poular all that people see are the body images and saying to their friend 'I'd hit that'. Any good music needs time and hard effort put into to the lyrics and the instruments. To be honest fergie could have just said a bunch of words and wil i am could have created a beat.

Yes Some lyrics out there suck toilet water. But then some songs do have a message. Unfortunately due to Corporate radio and payola, good music is stifled for commercial crap.
Eye Candy is nice but give me a good instrumental and a song with meaning. Like John Mayer -waiting on the world to change or Sam Roberts.
Classical music and good rock/pop tunes that help people think are good.

I agree completely, but people are free to listen to what they wish. I'm sure not everybody would find some of the heavy metal I listen to appealing.

Now, as far as what is attractive about it goes:

In the case of Fergie, she's on a large record label. Large record labels have a lot of money for advertising. Advertising money can take practically -anything-, and make it attractive. (This is particularly true when the youth are impressionable zombies who believe everything that their televisions, radios, and other electronic devices tell them.)

Remember...opinions are like....well I'll leave it at that so as not to offend.

I personally like the song (have it on my ipod because it's a good one to work out to), I like Fergie even. I actually listen to a wide variety of music from pop to hip hop, r&b, heavy metal, alternative, etc...and yes, even classical. For people to blame so much on music is absolutely ridiculous (especially when those people are religious zealots).

Yes, it is unfortunate that pop music has gone downhill...but if you want to see what pop music should be, listen to classic pop (preferably 80's/90's pop) Those songs spoke from the performer's hearts about their emotions, not just singing obscenely to make a quick buck.

It is important to recognize and discern the spirit. If we are not wise to the ways of Satan we will fall victim to his ways. There are two spirits at work on earth. One is the spirit of God and one is the spirit of the antichrist. Everything is of one or the other. We must test the spirits and discern what we are taking in to our souls. Yes, we need to avoid all that is evil. Satan works through people, places and things. Music can be inspired by God but it can also be inspired by Satan. Any songs that talk about drugs, drinking, sex, killing, stealing etc is the spirit of the antichrist. It has terrible effects on those who listen to it. We must not put spiritual junk food into our souls or our souls will become ill. We must gurad our souls and only allow good, healthy and godly influences in our souls. The reason people are drawn to this stuff is because it is their sinful desires. They are living in the flesh, in sin and not in the spirit of God.

I like it because I can dance to it. Ferge, is something different for a change. She kind of reminds me of Gwen Stefani. I really like her. A woman wants to feel sexy, and have fun, and most of these songs do that for us. Plus it's what sells....
