You want to stick with jeans that go up a little higher at the waist than regular low-rise jeans. (Don't get the old-lady Wranglers that go up to your bellybutton, though!!!) I think a nice mid-rise bootcut jean in a dark wash will look really good on you. Try the X2 W31 style of Express jeans. I haven't met a person they look bad on. Also, try to find some jeans with a slant-cut hip pocket, as that creates the illusion of slimmer hips.

Old Navy Boot Cut Jeans, short, at the waist. You can only get them online at oldnavy.com. I am 5'4'' with bigger hips and I love these jeans! I get compliments all the time!

I would go with boot legged jeans. If you wear a jean that has a pant leg that hugs your ankle, it will put all the focus on your hips. You want to look proportioned.
