Why the political leaders do not lead a simple life and be example for others?

Because they get corrupted by the power of their position. Also, most politicians feel they are above the people they represent.

Because it is one of those occupations you can't do without being corrupt.

They have alot of power and are under alot of scrutiny so they feel compelled to act in the manner that they do.
