My husband is very effficient, does everything quickly - we got married in a hurry 6,5 years ago in Ukraine, he did not want me to wait for fiance visa ( that gives 3 months to figure out wheather the fiance likes the reality or not).
We have no children, no mutual assets, I have no job ( was a housewife for 6 years.) My husband makes good money, and spend them on luxury appartment and cars, plus he pays almost 40% of his salary for the child support. His first wife in Illinois got a very good lawyer. That made my husband sour. He does not want me to pretend on his pension plan ( he never told me what he has), but he works for GMC for 5 years already.
He offers me a monthly allowance and a car for a period of 1 year and furniture from my room.
I tried to educate myself about Michigan divorce law but it is all Greek for me.
Does anybody know a good website or can give me a sound advice, I would appreciate it.
Happy New Year.

My advice get an attorney a good one. Chances are he will end up having to pay the attorney fees. Don't go to self help places on the web to get advice. Go straight to an attorney. That is where you will get your best advice on what you should or should not do. Follow in the ex-wife's footsteps. Otherwise you are going to get royally taken advantage of. Oh and don't tell him you are going to get an attorney, just do it. and hurry.

http://www.divorcesupport.com/divorce/Michigan-Divorce-2499.html Try Looking at that site i am originally from Michigan, but haven't lived there in years,as far as your husbands pension plan he has to work there several more years in order for it to have any compensation,my dad worked for GM for over 35 years before he retired,as did my brother and anything could happen between now and then. But what you are sayiing is he will take care of you for a year that is a pretty good offer but you should not sign anything and find yourself a lawyer, a judge can order your husband to pay for your lawyer so i would go that route.

you can look in your local phone book for Legal Aid or call one of the attorneys who will talk to you for free. If you get a divorce he may have to pay for your attorney as well as his.

You should probably contact a lawyer. It may cost you but you can file a motion having him pay the fees if you have insufficient income and depend upon him.

a couple of good sites

http://divorcenet.com/

Ultimately you should contact a lawyer.

GET AN ATTORNEY. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS THE ATTORNEY OK'S IT. Don't be stupid - and don't let your husband tell you what to do. There's a reason (now you see it) why he didn't want you to wait and get to know him.
