oh my gosh i do NOT know!!! it is SO irritating! i clearly remember learning grammar in the 1st grade. that means at 6 years old i knew that this was improper use of wording...hmm...perhaps some people just never paid attention in the first grade.

It's just slang...word preference...The proper way to say the phrase is usually known just not the one of choice for some people. We live in a big world! Everyone doesn't feel the need to speak proper all the time!
