My g/f trains for gymnastics pretty hard. She conditions for two hours a day, Practices for three, Has lacrosse for two, and has been saying that she is sore but her coach tells her no pain no gain. I am worried because she is so tired and sore. I am not jealous because we still spend time together I am just comcerened. Is it possible I see that she may be over her limit but she cannot or will not accept that?? She pulled two leg muscles and a stomach muscle. I want her to be safe and healthy but think she will see me as selfish to say this. What do I do??
I am using my g/f's account to post this so her earlier ?s are not mine.
I know that she broke her wrist last year at conference and kept competing even though it hurt like hell.
Her coach doesn't like me coming to support her cuz I think she does good and he says she should deal with her failure(6th out of 158) not be praised.

The trainer told her to slow down a bit but her coach talked to her and convinced her that she won't place in state if she don't work

Your concern for your girlfriend is very sweet. As with any competitive sport and some point to get hurt or injured, that is just part of it. I am sure that her coach has a sports Doctor available to check out her problems. Her trainer would not put her through anything that's unsafe. Just trust him!

I am a level 8 gymnast. Going to be level 9 this year. I train 4-5 hours a day. It is hard, and we get sore. But if you mean sore as in actually injured then she needs to go to the doctor, so they can diagnose the injury and get her coach informed. And placing 6th out of 158 is really good. I am happy if i place at all on at least one event(which usually takes a score of at least 9.2). Tell your girlfiend that I wish her good luck because I know how hard gymnastics is. I would say for her to take a little time off but being a gymnast myself I know that that is not an option with competition season starting in a few days. Tell her to know her limits though. That is ALWAYS a good rule in gymnastics. Best of luck!

it seems like she needs tot ake a break and go to physical therapy to rehabilitate her once broken wrist since it is still bothering her... it will only keep getting worse if she doesnt go to therapy and get it better soon.
she needs to cool down for gymnastics. it will always be ther for her when she gets back! she needs to go to a doc and get a presccription for physical therapy...
the coach is also a di ck... he cares abotu more about "placing in state" than her health and well being?? and also 6th place out of 158 is great! i guess some things are never good enough for people, especially her coach.....
i dotn think her wrist ever fully healed nor healed the right way since she still used it alot for gymnastics even though it was broken....

If she is a minor you can talk to her folks unless they are nuts about sports themselves.
There has got to be an organization that she belongs to some sort of committee.. report the dumb coach for abusing your gf..
its one thing to be sore with a few pulled muscles and wanting to be the best but breaking bones and saying its good to deal with failure is some sort of nut.

Have her talk to her Dr. The Dr will recommend that she lighten her load. A letter will also be written to the coach and the coach will have to adhere to it. He will be legally responsible should he fail to obey the Dr's advice. She should really slow down for her own good.

People can be very stubborn sometimes. Just keep telling her what you think. You can also talk to her parents about your concerns. She probably won't listen to anybody until she is in the hospital if she will even listen then. But don't give up maybe she will listen one day. Good luck!
