I am really sick and tired of people saying something or someone is ghetto and they don't even know where a ghetto is, Where or why they originated, have never set foot in one, and assume because all black people live in the ghetto? That is the most ignorant racist shiit I hear and it is wrong!
Do people even know that ghettos were from Germany in WW2 and that's where Hitler stashed thed Jews until he was ready to kill and torture them?
Please stop talking about things or people being ghetto and youdon't know anything about it.
No I don't live int the projects
No I don't have 6 kids 6 different "baby daddy's"
No I am not on welfare
Yes I have an education
Yes I work
Yes I want to have a good life
and screw all the haters .
What if people said things and people were "Trailer Park" instead of ghetto?
Wouldn't white people get offended?
What if we thought you were are toothless, poor, lazy, gun toting, hillbillies?

I'm not labeled ghetto by anyone who knows me and people around me know better than to use that word around me too. I will correct them. But I asked another question today about myself personally and a couple ignorant poeple assumed I was ghetto and it did tick me off.

I completely agree with you. The reason people say things about the things that they dont know about is simple: they are ignorant. Every time I try to tell someone that they are saying something stupid or incorrect they never seem to understand. I think that being ignorant is a trend for some people. They just dont understand anything. Its like they've never seen a dictionary in their lives. Just don't let stereotyping idiots get to you. Some of them thrive on prejudice and racism, but what they dont know is that kind of life style will ultimitely ruin their life. Try educating them yourself or giving them a book on actual reality.

Well, I for one am not a toothless, poor, lazy, gun toting hillbilly, and so, because I know this, I would think it rather funny were someone to call me that.
A ghetto currently means a very poor neighborhood, and very few people have never been in one, and those that don't must have at least some idea of what one is from the media.
I can't imagine why you would be offended were someone to label you or your possessions to be ghetto, as you seem very sure that you and they're not. Why let it bother you?
If you are regularly labeled "ghetto", do something about it. You can more easily change yourself than you can the opinions of others.

Hey, you know what I ain't judging now but you sound a little pissed @ someone that probably had a wrong up bringing. How you take things that are said to you wrongly is up to you but think about it this way they don't live your life you do and if they don't understand that then that's their loss. But don't feel bad or feel you have to justify Ghetto as long as you know you ain't "ghetto" . Like being a "Redskin" or a "Red Neck" look at it with some humor and be proud of who you are!

As Americans we only know what we see on tv, right or wrong. We believe what ever we are told. I live in a southern state, and our school mascot is........ The Hillbillies !!! We do it to ourselves ! Different races, and where we live, set the standards for others to judge. That is why we as individuals must break stereo-types.

I think everyone pretty much assumes that "trailer park", "slums" and "ghetto" are synonymous.

There is nothing mysterious, complicated, exotic, or abstract about a ghetto. It's a filthy, burnded-out, delapidated place where filthy, burned-out, delapidated people live. It does not require one to live there to be able to immediately assign ghetto-ness to something that is ghetto-ish.
Stop whining and try to improve your people since they certainly have no will to improve themselves.
Bye.
