Which is the best edition of the Ticket to Ride series. I don't know what the key differences are between the Marklin, Europe, and USA editions except for the map. If I get one, I plan to get the expansions. I like a lot of strategy, but also something that is simple for my brothers to play. Is there one that is more family oriented?

I am a friend of the designer so my answer may be biased. All versions of TtR are very good games and all are worth owning. The USA game is the one with the fewest rules. The Europe game adds a rules that some trains can only use locomotives (wild cards) to link routes. The Marklin edition (Germany) adds passengers who can be picked up during one's turn for extra points.

I've only played the original Ticket to Ride. You can read plenty of reviews about these (as well as over 2000 other board games) at www.boardgamegeek.com. Here's a link to the Ticket to Ride series -
