Had it myself. There is a little tingle but not bad at all. I took a friend to get it for his shoulder and he said it wasn't bad either. When we left, he asked what kind of medicine the doctor put on the needles because he was still a little numb. There was no meds. The acupuncture really helped. It is a little nerve wracking to think about - but don't let yourself get too worked up. Just think of it as a treatment and don't look at the needles. It does tingle a bit but does not feel like needles getting poked in or shots. Good luck and relax.

Not really. The needles they use are finer then the ones you get from your doctor. Beside that they do not go very deep.
It feels simular to the stinging of your arms when the fall a sleep on you and you have to move your arms to get the blood moving again.
You'll also find that in most cases there is very little to no blood at all from this.

Look at it this way what's worse an hour or so of having needles in your back that you wont even feel or see or back pain for the rest of your life.
No-one likes being injected so suck it up and be a grown up about it

I hate needles too and actually didn't mind the tiny pin prick. I have used it for pain and quitting smoking.
