That depends on what religion a person is. If a person is a baptist they do play piano and an organ, if you are a Church of Christ they dont because they believe in making music in your heart so take your pick.

Apparently it's OK with God:

"Psalms 33:2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psalms 47:6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Psalms 66:1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious."

"The history of musical instruments can be traced throughout the Bible.

A. The earliest instruments of music (Hebrew, kinnor, translated "harp" in Genesis 4:21) were invented by a man named Jubal.
B. Other instruments were later made by David (I Chronicles 23:5; II Chronicles 7:6; 29:26) and Solomon (II Chronicles 9:11).
C. Some were made of silver (Numbers 10:1, 2), some of brass (I Chronicles 15:19), and some of fir wood (II Samuel 6:5).
D. The use of musical instruments in worship can be seen both in the Old (I Chronicles 13:8; II Chronicles 5:12,13; Nehemiah 12:35-41; etc.) and in the New Testaments (Revelation 5:8, 9; 14:2, 3; 15:20; 18:22)."

My Church has many people who are talented with instruments. Piano, Saxophone and on Christmas eve one of the members played to French Horn!

Music is way to express feelings.... why do you think we sing in churches and have choirs?

yes, and they are in many churches i have been to in several denominations, including my own. It adds to the service and it's great to see the talent of the members, especially the younger kids.

I believe that they should. Services are about praising the lord, and music and song is one of the best ways to do that.

Why Not?????????????

Might you suspect that your GOD has no musical ear?

What is it that bothers you about how one expresses faith?

Are "Instruments" some sinful tool of your "Devil?"

Sigh
