If you don't want to go Greyhound try calling OCTA at 714-636-7433. They should be able to direct you in the right direction.

you have some choices, depending where in San Gabriel you want to go,(I will assume you want to Mission
from Santa Ana, you have some choices
you can take buses or a train..
the fastest way would be to go to Santa Ana Metrolink/Amtrak station, take a Metrolink train to Los Angeles,
then walk out of Union station toward Alameda
turn left and head for the Busway entrance.
then wait for Metros 487 bus thats the bus
show your metrolink ticket to the 487 driver -you will
just have to pay a zone charge I thinks its 50cents
that bus will take right near the Mission
thats the best way
if you wanted to take the bus you will have to transfer
a few times,
from Santa Ana take the OCTA bus to Disneyland ((I thinks
like 205 or something like that, then board the Metro
460 bus and take that bus into Downtown LA get off
at 6th and Olive (get a day pass from the Metro driver )
that will be $3.00 plus a Orange county fare
then the 487..as above
of course taking Greyhound is out since they dont even stop
in San Gabierl in the first place..

Why don't you go to the Santa Ana Train station, it will be faster and more scenic (sort of) and you wont have to sit on a smelly bus and the train station in Santa Ana is historic.
