I saw it in the Brooklyn Museum where artifacts of conquered nations are stored, revered and remembered.
While they lived their culture, lifestyle and uniqueness are ridiculed and minimized but after death transformed into objects of art then proudly hung in museums across the world.
Monetary value is placed on everything stolen item then traded to the highest bidder and their rich history becomes a footnote examined only as a storyline in a movie or TV melodrama.
Even more puzzling is that subsequent generations of the evil men who kill them off do not grasp how murderous their ancestors. They compete for ownership of the now valued trinkets boasting all the while about bargains they find.
I've never understood the paradox myself, I'm still trying to figure out why it is so.

I picked up the peace pipe on ebay last week using the Buyitnow feature. $14.95 wasn't that bad of a price I thought. After all it was used and in poor shape.
