Well, see, my girlfriend is pregnant, she is like, 23 weeks pregnant or so. The question is, she doesn't know when she got pregnant exactly. She said her last NORMAL period was around June 28th, but, that she had another period in July, but she said it was really light and only lasted like 1 day, which isn't normal for her. So, I was wondering, if that means she could of gotten pregnant before her light period, and that could mean she got pregnant before July 28th we'll say, but after June 28th... All I am asking basically is, is it normal to have a light period after getting pregnant... it's a complicated situation, but, that's what I kind of need to know! THanks!

OK, She has been to the doctor's, and she has had an ultra sound (hence, how I know she is 23 weeks along). Anyways... The whole story is as follows... We broke up July 16th.... she started dating this other guy like, a week later, and said she had sex with him after 5 days (skank, I know, right? jk... lol) anyways... so, after like a month an a half of her being with him, she wanted to be with me, so, we hung out and stuff, and everything was good... then, a few days later, she calls me, and tells me she found out she's pregnant. So. naturally, I assume it's not mine cause I haven't been with her for almost 2 months (sexually as well for 2 months) so. Her due date is May 4th, it was May11, then they changed it to May 9th, and now it's May 4th (I hope it keeps going down lol) but as of right now, it says she must of gotten pregnant around July 28th (when we weren't together) ... So, basically, I am just trying to check if there are anyways that it could be mine... thanks!

More then likely, what she had was called implantation bleeding. It isn't a period, it's the egg implanting into the uterus. This is pretty normal for women to have implantation bleeding. Some women do mistake it for a period, but if it only lasts a day, usually it's not a period. Has she been to the doctor for a check and ultrasound yet? If not, she really needs to go. Ultrasound will show gestational age with a difference of plus/minus 2 weeks. We go by last normal menstral period when we figure out due dates, so if she has a date that her last normal started, they can figure out how far along she is. It's complicated to figure out, and it could be that she's farther along then she thinks, but only a doctor would be able to tell her for sure. If she hasn't been to a doctor, she needs to see one ASAP. If she thinks it will be too expensive, or she doesn't have insurance, there are state programs that will help. Good luck!!!!

Sure- it's very common. The doctors are able to estimate her due date by several things. #1 ultrasound. She should have had one by now and they can tell by what the baby looks like. They also measure her tummy from the belly button, to her pubic bone. It's actually very accurate (unless she very over weight- then I don't know)
With all my kids, my doctors are always right on. My kids just decided to come 4 weeks early :o) They'll know if she's off a month or not-
Don't worry. :o) Enjoy the time know, cuz when baby comes- it's daddy's turn to help out!!!! (you'll LOVE the night time feedings :o) Really it's not bad though. Your parenting instincts kick in and you just do what you have to!

There are alot of women that get their periods once or even all throughout there pregnancies. Has she had an ultra sound yet? That will tell her how pregnant she is.
