no, it should have been televised.

I would suggest doing some research and watch old video files of Saddams terrors against his own people and others, but I think you are to young to see that. Let me try to answer your questions nicely. First about the hanging. He was tried in an Iraqi court and hung by the Iraqi government, therefore it does not have anything to do with the United States Constitution.
I agree with you about Iraq being Iraqs business. However, as a defender, you must sometimes attack before your opponent. There are other interests under the surface that you may not be aware of, such as oil, crimes against humanity. You have to remember that the United States is the most powerful military on the planet. When there is trouble, the United Nations gets involved and the US steps to the plate. Dont forget also that the US is not the only country with troops in Iraq. There are french, british, and others.
Your third question about letting him suffer in jail is a good one. I would have rather preffered to let him loose in a crowded urban area in the United States and let the people handle him.
Your fourth question. Saddam was not tried for killings during war. He was tried for killings during peace time to his own people, in this trial anyway. Bush is trying, and I repeat trying, to preserve order, and turn the country over to the new Iraqi government. However there are a lot of people there that dont want an official government, therefore they continue to fight.
This is not this person killed just like this person killed situation, therefore he should suffer the same punishment. Talk to your parents about this too. I doubt that many other 13 year olds will be able to give you good conversation on this topic.

I think it was rushed. Within 2 weeks that I heard about him getting executed, it actually happened. I feel like there could have been a lot of information we could have gathered from him. Wheter we like it or not, he's now a historical figure. Much like Hitler. People will be studying about this, just like we studied about the Jews and the holocaust. Think about it, this generation has seen a lot. I'm kind of rambling. Anyways, it was Iraq's decision to execute him. The interesting part is that he wasn't killed because of recent events. He was killed for the murders of the Shiites of Kuwaitt in 1982. I don't think he was even tried for recent deaths he has bestowed. Bush, although I don't agree with his decisions, is not directly killing troops, he's sending them off in a mission that he thinks will benefit our country. I don't know how or why but his intentions aren't for troops to die. Saddam's intentions were cruel and demented.
But you make a good point. So what if you're 13, don't apologize for your opinion. Happy New Year.

No I think it was very unfair.
Unfair to the parents of the small children he ordered raped and murdered in front of their families.
He should have been tied to the nearest lamp post set alight but only until the pain was excrutiating, then extinguished to suffer uncontrollable pain whilst the locals rammed knitting needles in his eyes then beaten and whipped till every part of his body bled.
After that he should be held down and raped just like many of the children he tortued.
Then he should be left in a gutter to die in agony just like the coward deserved.

I'm 13 too. I think it was completely fair. He killed and tortured people in ways that are unthinkable to us. Killing people through war is different than killing and torturing people for basically no reason.

Since Saddam was not a citizin of the U.S he was not protected under the US constittion. Saddam was some sort of planner person in the attacks of 911....I think. I think it was Iraq's decsision to hang him, not the US. So it had nothing to do with our laws or rights.

I think his execution was fair. Read his history and you will find this man was less than human.
If he was handed over to the Iragi people - they would have tortured him and burned him alive.
He got the easier way.

If you get off of politics and blind anti-Bushism and consider the following facts you might change your mind:
1. He killed many of his own people for no good reason
2. He invaded Kuwait without provocation
3. His own people, not us, tried and sentenced him

The U.S. didn't hang him. An Iraqi court ordered his death and with much less cruelty than he afforded his victims.
