I believe so because I disagree with both. Christmas gifts should only be opened on Christmas. "I want to be there when someone opens my gift"..... well that's just selfish.
"We don't want to know the sex of our Child early because we like the suprise"....wake up, when to find out early you are still suprised but in a much calmer state, plus a million more reasons to find out as early as possible.

Yes I see that some open on Christmas eve cause that's the only time you can all get together, WHAT? Why do you have to all be together, how selfish and silly.
And let me repeat, you still get the suprise no matter when you find out the sex of the baby so your reasoning is totally 100% flawed. What if God gave us brains to develop the technology to determine the sex before its born???????? Go ahead and make all your decisions using bad or no logic, I enjoy the silliness I read when you attempt to justify reason based on nonsense. Nice!

These are two very different arguements. You can't compare the two.

If opening presents on Christmas Eve and not wanting to know the sex of the child is anththetical, then it seems to me, that the reverse would also be true. I mean, if someone wants to wait until Christmas Day, it would seem that they woud also want to wait to find out the sex of the baby.

But knowing in advance will help others know what clothes to buy and what color to paint the room, etc.

It is one thing to be against people opening your gift to them while you aren't present. It gives you a chance to see their genuine reaction to the gift. You are giving it to them though, so you'd think they're allowed to do whatever they want with it.

Learning the sex of a child before it's born is entirely different. There are things that are required pretty upon the baby's birth (like a name and clothing). Knowing the child's gender before birth also makes it easier for others who are shopping for you to buy baby shower gifts for you (unless you're rich, you probably need some help).

Wow...what a weird link you have made!
We open our gifts on Christmas Eve because that is the only time we can all be together.
And believe it or not, there was once a time when you COULDN'T know a baby's sex! If God wanted you to know, he'd tell you in a dream.
I chose to remain surprised by it.

No. We didn't want to know the gender of our baby, and we always open our gifts on Christmas Eve; that is our tradition.
