Something along the lines of "the under dog comes out on top" or "kid from the wrong side of the tracks makes good". Characters/stories I've really enjoyed are Ada Monroe and Ruby Thewes from "Cold Mountain", Harry Potter, Pi from "The Life of Pi", and author Jeanette Walls. They've all been "under dogs" of one sort or another and I've really liked the stories that accompany them on their way up/out/through.

I love romance books~all kinds~but especially suspenseful thrillers. I read one a few months ago that scared the hell out of me but I can't remember the name or even the author's name right now. And it is packed or I would see what it is. It was about a woman that was buried alive, with bones/etc from another body in the same coffin. Like I said it scared the hell out of me because that has always been one of my fears; being buried alive! But it all turned out good, she was rescued!!

I like books that are romantic and mysterious. I have written a series of books and i find that the romantic books sell the best. it is also good to put a little twist ino the characters.
