There were five items on the kitchen counter; a coffemaker, a bag of beans, a grinder, a sugar bowl, and a cracked cup.
At first I couldn't make out what kind of bird it was, but as it swooped low, I recognized by it's markings; a peregrine falcon.
I still need to take History 101; Math 410; and Biology 243.

The first one needs a colon. The second one should have a comma instead of the semicolon. The third one also needs commas.

The most common use of semicolon is to combine two very closely related ideas that can stand alone as separate sentence.Without semicolons,reader would have a trouble distinguishing each unit.All sentence have a misuse of semicolon.
