Whats happened in Iraq was this:

Intervention of the USA government into another sovereign country Iraq. Replacement of the Sunnies government by Shiites.

My question is if Saddam was evil, dictator who killed a lot of ppl why not just bring him to justice and leave the Sunnie government where it was?

Do you think it was lawfull to change one government by another without asking Sunnies if they wanted that change?

Do you know if the Sunnies were in minority or majority in Iraq?

Or mayby you think that Sunnies are all evil and should be killed and MUST not be in in government of Iraq?

Rich do you think I am wrong, right? I want to hear your opinion. I want to be wrong. But the facts say for themselves

I think that Sunnies are in minority now or will be even more very soon. Shiites are wiping them off the Iraq soil.
Democracy in progress!!!!!!

"Do you know the ultimate truth about Iraq?"

No, and neither do you.

There is no "ultimate truth" about Iraq or any other place. There is "your truth" (otherwise known as "your cause to champion") along with a thousand other "truths" (otherwise known as "everyone else's causes to champion") and none of us have any way of knowing what motivates each and every person.

The Iraqis held free elections. The USA government did not "place" a Shiite government in Iraq, the Iraqi people did. That's called "democracy."

I'm not trying to suggest that anyone will ever know everything that led up to the war in Iraq (though there are plenty of people that "know everything" and will be quite happy to tell you), but I'm smart enough to know that I don't know everything, and I therefore do not suggest that the invasion of Iraq was right or wrong. If I am to go solely by what some of my Iraqi immigrant co-workers say, then I would wholly agree that there was a need for change there, as they fled the country because of Saddam Hussein and the government, and they're Sunnis.

Maybe you should ask some of the people whom have lived under the dictatorship how they feel about the changes instead of listening to one-sided media sensationalism and drawing your own jaded conclusions.

Nations NEVER go to war for the reasons given to the public, NEVER! Especially in democracies, a pretext is ALWAYS needed. The reason for this is that the goal of the nation (or the group running the nation-in our case, the neoconservative establishment) always differs from the goals of the population. In this context the answers to your questions are as follows:

a. Replacing Saddam was only a secondary goal. The real goal was to have a significant military presence in Eurasia to stifle any challenge to its global supremecy. (ditto for Afghanistan-and soon to be Iran).

b. See a.

c. Iraq is 60% Shia, 20% Sunni, and 20% Kurd

d. See a.

Over half the Iraqi population is Shi'ite. The Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, and Shi'ites were all invited to participate in the new Iraqi government. The Shi'ites won control because they hold the majority of the population. The Sunnis are not all evil. After al-qaeda attacked the Shiite Imam al-Hussein mosque in Balad Ruz, the sectarian violence escalated into what we have in Iraq today.

The best thing for all people in the United States to do is to take the time to learn more about OUR history and the history of other countries. The United States has done some reprehensible things to people from other countries. That is not to say that any one president was responsible for all of those atrocities. But what it does prove is that the more terrible things we get away with, the more we will continue to get away with.
But.
Murder will out in whatever its form.
It always does.
Thus whatever 'plan' this country has for another will fail in due time. We cannot continue to force others to become westernized. And we cannot continue to install puppet governments.
The United States may well be defined as a military might. But our governemnt is sadly lacking in diplomacy. This will be the ultimate downfall.
The United States needs to get out of Iraq as quickly as possible. These people can take care of themselves. The U.S. can leave behind its PERMANENT military bases, evacuate the Green Zone and just leave. If the various factions continue to fight each other,so be it. They will continue to fight whether the U.S. is there or not. The Iraqi poeople do not want us there. Period.
and yes.there is an 'ultimate truth about Iraq"....you have likely covered some of the truths. Someday soon, we will know ALL of them.

The Iraq government was voted into power by their own people..the suni tribes make up a minority of the people in Iraq, and they are part of the government. One of the vice presidents is Suni...tollerance is a difficult task to teach...hopefully everybody in this world will learn something from what is going on there. It should give everyone something to pray for over this newyears eve.

I know an ultimate truth about Iraq and that is many thousands of people there are dieing or going to die from depleted uranium poisoning because of the munitions the USA is using there and in Afghanistan.

Doubt my word? Then go to the web site and read documented proof. There is much proof there if you take the time to read it.

you know what the biggest problem is? Iraq is still basically a tribal nation for it's hierarchy... and as such it's people are not ready for a democracy, nor will they be for years to come.. it would have been like trying to round up all the Native Americans back in about 1700 and telling them they had to be a Democracy now... it just doesn't work that way. .. nations have to chose democracy rather than have it forced upon them.

Though Sunnies, excluding Kurds, were a minority, they have the right for autonomy and self defense. The Invasion of Iraq had no justification.

What I think is 1. They should have killed Saddam when desert storm was going on and have been done with it.
2. We have no buisness in their country to begin with telling them what to do or how to act. (think if the rolls were switched.)
3. I wish they would bring are military back here where they belong.
