I must admit, Im pretty amazed at some of these answers..........some strong people amongst you guys.......I thought I would ask because sometimes people tend to believe that they're mentally scarred by a negative comment. It now makes people realise, I hope (including me), that some things said to me were not that bad.
'Where do we put the body' of a wife and 'Your mother died because you' must be gut-renching.............

When I was 9 or 10 my best friend of the time told me that I just wasn't cool enough for her and she wanted to be friends with other people. As it turned out, the other people weren't cool enough for her either, but they turned out to be far nicer than she ever was.
I think that people who drink too much don't realise how horrible they are when they are drunk. I was out with someone recently who picked a fight with a stranger, then picked a fight with me when I told her she was being rude and obnoxious - I was stone cold sober, by the way. She called me the most horrible names, and then said something about being completely helpless without a husband ... since then I've seen her making eyes at my husband when she's a bit tipsy. But growing up I have had to deal with drunken, bitchy family members - who only drank heavily because they were unhappy in some way - who turned their nastiness on anyone nearby, so I don't like drunks in principle. I've heard the excuse 'it was the drink talking' so many times now, but I don't believe it. It was the drink giving them the false courage to say what they really thought without having to be diplomatic about it.

This sort of stuff usually happens in high school. People love spreading rumors or just making stuff up that is completley untrue. I had this happen a few times.

Hurts to even write it, so I can't :)
If anyone else would have said it, then I could have brushed it off. Its just that they knew how much it would hurt, and they said it deliberately to upset me. There are some things which you just don't say to someone you love.
