It draws the natural oils out from your nail as you buff, making them nice and shiny!!

you use a nail buffer to take the shine off your nailes before applying nail polish as it gos on much smoother and drys quicker and at the end of the day your nailes will look much nicer

I think it 'polishes' nails - like shines them up.
Like a shoe buffer - for shiny shoes =D

they make your nails smoother so they shine lots - don't use the roughest bit too much as it can thin your nails and weaken them. used properly they should mean your nails grow longer without breaking as you smooth out the weak bits.

just think of them like sandpaper on a rough bit of wood x

usually there are the step numbers written on the sides of the buffer. usually the rougher side is the side you start with. start from the roughest side to the softest side if it doesn't have the steps written on it.
