For example, today and other times when I rented (L-word or Brokeback mountain or other gay movies) the people at the counter just looked at me funny like they never seen a gay person before or they be wondering if your gay....I don't know. Only one time was this girl cool with it saying good reviews of the L-word and had said hope you enjoy your DVD. This also pertains if you go to the store and buy something that is gay, music, books, etc. What is it w/ people?

This is not just a gay issue. Haven't you noticed? We live in a society of judges. Wherever you go, whatever you do, there is a host of judges waiting to pass judgment on you. For what? Basically for being different in any way from them. Their whole lives revolve around incriminating others. My advice? Next time something like this happens to you look the person straight in the eye, smile your best most sincere smile and say, "This is a really great film [or series or whatever]. You should watch it sometime." That way, without actually telling the person off you've let him/her know that you know how minuscule his/her life views are and that you can be open about yours.

Maybe a lot of people are just getting tired of all the in-your-face, pro-gay messages that are being constantly thrown at them by the popular culture. I know I sure am.
