The Occupying forces in Iraq, handing over Saddam Hussein to the locals to be executed, was to have the group the U.S has most problems with, do the dirty work for them...This was well thought out plan...to cause a deeper hatred between Sunnis and Shiites. What a shamefull and degrading act, by the perperators and their cronies....!!! The world is apparently blind...What a shame!!

The bottom line is that if the U.S. had killed him, the U.S. would have been the bad guy. We don't want that.

I do not agree. It has been in the news the US government wanted to insure the execution was done in a humane way by the current Iraq government. The Hatred will continue and may be intensified but his execution is only a small reason. Hate has been passed down for generations we have very little influence over the ignorance exhibited here and now. We have tried to be an influence and nothing is happening to change the hate. I wonder about the children who teaches them to hate.

No they handed him over because he committed the crimes against there families and neighbors. They deserved to have the right to get to decide his fate.
