A reocurring dream - especially a nightmare in an adult has a completely different interpretation than that for a child. Your son is at the age where he is afraid of losing his family, parents and most importantly his sense of security and safety. These are quite common in children and will pass. Make sure you spend that special time with him before he goes to sleep where you make him feel safe and secure. Make bedtime a ritual that has the same pattern each night. When he has the nightmare, give him all the comfort he needs and if it helps, allow him to bring his blanket and pillow to sleep on your bedroom floor. Don't let him sleep with you as that can set a negative precedent. He just needs to be reassured that his family won't leave him. Good luck.

Dreaming water means your wishes come true.
But i think your son needs you. It would be nice to put him to bed, no matter his age, because he feels alone and empty if he feels that everyone is drowning, be a support and be with him so when he sleeps he can let go of the dream. And since you cannot be with him all night have a pillow or a teddy bear with your scent on it, maybe a perfume so that when he sleeps at night you will still be with him in his dreams.

2nd option play some ambient type music to relax him to sleep better

My dream book says that drowning is to do with financial loss, but I doubt your 7 year old is thinking about that. It might just be linked to something he has heard at school or seen on TV.
However, a good tip with bad dreams in children, is not to let them talk about it - this might sound odd, but the fact is, dreams are stored in temporary section of the brain, which is why most people do not remember them. However, as soon as you verbalise it, it is transferred to a more permanent section of the brain, so it will stay with him for longer. My advice is not to ask him what he is dreaming about.

I have a book of dreams and the only thing it really says is for water, not flood, water represents emotions. And depending on the dreamer and how the dreamer chooses to use water as a symbol to express something important.
hope this helps. Go to the book store and look at a dream book and see what else you can find out.

poor thing. generally water dreams mean emotions, drowning may mean he is struggling to deal with his feelings about a certain situation - all of you drowning possibly could mean his fear of losing the family? maybe as a family you are finding something hard to overcome? Is something happening to cause a fear of losing the family unit? Talk and ask him if anything is bothering him - on the days his dream occurs has anything occurred, an argument maybe? Good Luck and i hope his dreams stop soon.

Has someone recently told him the story of Noah and the ark? If so, he may have misunderstood it or it was told to him in such a way that scared him. Ask him about it and reassure him that it happened a long, long time ago and will never happen again. God promised and His promise is the rainbow - and that's Biblical.

Psychic premonitions are a caution, no longer a definate. i've got made the errors of having an extremely solid feeling approximately somebody leaving me and then probable bringing it upon myself with the aid of performing in yet in any different case. targets are infrequently premonitions, it is merely your head working with the aid of what's it is thinking approximately that got here approximately, is happening and can ensue. If she thinks her boyfriend is going to bypass away she might desire to be feeling some guilt she won't even observe. The dream might desire to propose something. My boyfriend is magnificent to me in genuine existence yet for some reason in my targets he's terrible and demeaning...i've got had to discover ways to ignore approximately it because of the fact it merely does no longer propose something. She ought to cool down, come back to genuine international and maturely communicate it along with her guy if she has some thing to assert to him.
