Where would I start to introduce a better way for Americans who recieve Food Stamps? Too much of our American taxes are used to feed our citizens (and others) with not food, but junk. It is amazing that food stamps are used, not for healthy feeding but for junk food that is breaking down the body of so many. I propose that the food stamp program create boundries using an acceptable food list, the same as the state WIC program. Couldn't we save million, billions of dollars on junk food, which in turn creates health problems which are then funded by Medicare and state health programs such as we have in Tenn. (Tenncare)

Anything that is edible can be purchased with food stamps. Crazy enough the food stamps won't buy needed items like dish, bath or clothes soap and toilet paper!

Might start with contacting the Department of Health and Human Services. If they can't be of assistance, perhaps they could steer you in the right direction.

anything that is edible is NOT allowed to be purchased with food stamps.. HOT food or deli food can not be purchased..u cannot tell a person what to eat or what not to eat.. Good food is 3 x as expensive as bad food..though it's healthier..I do have a problem with people buying steaks, etc with it but when is it the govts place to tell people that they can't buy chips and soda..3 sodas go further than milk and is much cheaper.. If u are so concerned why not contact ur senators, etc about doing something about the cost of fruit and veggies and lean meats, etc.

i was under the assumption that they were only able to buy certain foods. i would be in agreement that snack cakes and potato chips wouldn't be allowed. For some reason I was thinking that sugary cereals are NOT WIC approved. I would like to hear some more info on all of this.

I think People who recieve help feeding there familys should not be able to buy any junk.... and or instant high priced food, they would be more motivated to go to work if they only got what it takes for survival. Nothing Fancy or instant
