Magneto.

There used to be a lot of real heroes, but all real people seem to be scandalous hypocrites. I can't think of an actor, politician, businessman, etc that hasn't been tainted with scandal by a bloodthirsty press.

Magneto seems to stand out for the mutants, those who are extraordinary, against the ignorant masses of humanity. He may be a villain, but at least he doesn't pretend to be something he's not.

Since this is under comics and animation, then I'll go with my comic book hero and say "Wolverine" from the X-Men. A very conflicted guy that still managed to what was right when it was needed.

I hope it won’t sound irreverent to say this, but Jesus Christ is MY hero. After Him, then Superman and Captain America, for their nobility and moral goodness, but they are only fictional while Jesus lives and will return to judge the living and the dead.

My favorite is Batman. He has no superpowers yet he is a superhero, he is the one Superman trusts the most when and if he would ever become so dangerous he would get out of control he gave to Batman the lethal amount of kryptonite to kill him so the world could be saved, and despite of everything his enemies have done if they were innocent he would support them because of his stance for justice.

My heroes are the lyricists from my favorite bands.......like Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. He might not me a great roll model, but he gets what he feels onto paper and I wish I could do that. Its amazing how wonderfully personal his lyrics are. I love him and admire him for it!
