So, I'm writing a story. Anyways, it's kind of romantic, yet not. More drama than anything. These two 20 something kids fall in love...and so on and so forth. The girl ends up almost dead by an attempted murder by her father. The characters are in the singing business, and trying to help the girl produce a CD, since he is already famous far and wide. So, here's where I need your help. I need to put a wedge between the lovers, like something the man does while the girl is working on the record/recovering, with another woman. Preferrably not an affair because she has a bad temper, and my only choice would be to not have them get back together, which i want them to get back together. Please help!

I want the female main character to be REALLY hurt though...emotionally not physically

Maybe the betrayal could be something other than an affair. Like he gives away a special song he had written for her to record and lets some other woman record it. Or he gives the story of her twisted relationship with her father to a reporter (he doesn't realize she's a reporter!) and it gets all over the tabloids. In either case, in the end it makes her stronger, so she can forgive and la la la.

If he is famous, then there should be like a story in the tabloids about him and _____'s secret affair or something. And the girl could find out this way.

Good plan! Hmm...
The man could offer the other woman help on her own album, instead of devoting his time to your main character. He could completely turn on your main character, and deny that he knows her or who she represents in the music industry. To make this even worse, he could help the other woman, only to find that her album stinks and doesn't sell NEARLY as well as your main character's.

so. they guy should get like, way drunk at the bar and then sees like this fugly chick, but because he is drunk he thinks she's way sexy and so they have sex and stuff and he accidently get her pregnant! aaaahhh! and his girlfriend finds all this out and she hates him but he still loves her but she dont believe him and they get in a huge fight.
then like, 5 years later, she is sitting in the coffee shop and she sees him there! so they start talking and they fall in love with each other all over again!

he should really hurt the other woman and then she confused about how he can be so kind and cruel at the same time
