me and my fiancee have both got the flu, i am too scared to touch rabbit incase he catches the flu from us.
Please help.

As a keeper of rodents i can say that your flu can cause the rabbits to get a respitory disease called mycoplasma.....this is common in all rodents watch out for the sneezing and get them to the vet if they do start

No, rabbits can suffer from flu like illness but it is a different type of virus to the ones that humans get.

no... he cant catch the flu from you, it would be a different strain that would affect a rabbit than the strain that is affecting you. Its just like how they are afraid the bird flu will mutate so that humans can catch it.. at this point, its not possible..

No animals dont catch diseases from humans but humans can catch the flu from birds and can get an aids like disease from mosquitoes called west nile.

no way rabbits are very differnt from humans I have never heard of a rabbit/human flu zoonose (cross species disease)

no rabbits can't catch human viruses or bacterial infections. i would call your vet just to make sure and wash your hands before and after handling ur rabbit
