80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I have answered this question a few times before and I am sure each time it differs. There is so much meaning to life-will it ever be possible to give one explanation to the question?
I am sure the challenge in life is to discover the meaning of life-to you, and I hope you enjoy the journey while seeking your meaning.
Truth seems to be part of the true meaning of life, quite fitting really huh ;) When true to oneself we can be true to others-

This implies an outside influence on our lives, there is none, there is no 'true meaning of life'. This does not mean our lives have to be empty or that we must be selfish. We simply need ton have compassion for others while not neglecting our own needs.
Life can be rich and enjoyable without looking for 'higher purpose'. We don't need gods, they just get in the way.

I think the true meaning of life is to live life to it's fullest, and to do everything you can do to make your life the best. Helping others, being a kind person, and of course, enjoying the short time you have in this world. And of course to make the biggest impact and influence, and to change peoples lives for the better, including your own. And of course to re-populate!

I don't know, you tell me. Because the meaning of life is different for all of us. We actually get to choose what it is. Some may choose Family or God. Some may choose finding a cure for a disease. So I don't know what the meaning of life is for you. For me, it is to be connected to others so that we make each other feel alive and happy to be waking up each day; and building each other up to be better people. That I make a difference for people who have a hard time seeing out of the muck. And that I fall in love and give someone love and happiness each day.

Whirlpools and maelstroms. There is no "meaning of life". You are in your own head and everyone else is in their own head. We all have "filters" which we use to judge our surroundings. If you want to know the meaning of life, then go to a forest or the ocean - ALONE - and sit there until your mind no longer hears anything but the wind and the trees and the creatures who communicate by sounds and vibrations. There you will find the meaning of life.
No human has the answer. No human.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

Meaning of life??
Really difficult to answer when we think deeply.
But I know one thing whatever may be the meaning of life i have to maintain my goodness; and always try to be good human being immaterial of what other people think about me.

Since you were unclear, I'm going to assume you mean ALL life, ANYWHERE, rather than human life, or ant life, on this insignificant planet.

I have to throw in with the Existentialists, and say the meaning of the life, is its own self. Its presence is its meaning.
