Sony w600 trouble?

here is my problem I have new text and my phone tells me that but when i go into my messaging it will only show me old texts???
can anyone help??

software problem, if turning it off & back on does not work, then there is nothing u can do from home. You need to take it to the shop and have them check the software, they will probably need to re-install the software, so back up the essentials.
