Well, no one can "make you feel bad about your decision", only you can do that. So, make your mind up not to feel bad about it and not to care what others think.
Hey, I am right there with you and have spent several New Years Eve's at home and had a great time. It's a personal decision and of course others will have an opinion. I just always felt like New Years Eve was "Amateur Night" anyway. Too many idiots drinking and spending too much.
Have fun tonight. Treat yourself well and tell others to keep thier lousy opinion to themselves!

Forget what others think ! It's the most overated night of the year anyway - having to pay to get into bars/clubs you didn't have to any other night of the year, rained on in the street queuing to get in, 10 deep at the bar, overinflated prices, never being able to get a taxi, mobile phone network problems and for what ? To countdown 10, 9, 8, 7 six when Big Ben strikes ?
Don't get me wrong - I'm now NYE humbug. Just enjoy the night and have a drink at home or with friends at home.
Happy New Year all !

We aren't. Who told you that? We have got an all night mega party planned with fireworks. Half the street is coming. What is the point of being 10 deep at the bar, getting crushed or having beer spilt all over you. £30-00 for a taxi if your lucky, and queueing in the rain to get into a club. Latest survey out revealed 30 million adults choose to stay in on new years eve in the UK. Happy New Year.

Perhaps it's you that feels you are a social outcast when your friends say they are going out but you do what suits you and don't bother about what others may think. Have a great time and a Happy New Year to you.

social outcast? I started not going out to New Year's celebrations, even when I was invited, just because I like taking it easy ever since I graduated from college.
You decide how you feel so don't feel bad.

Don't judge your own life by the values of others. Remember also, the only one who can make you feel anything is yourself. Change your focus, voilà the feelings will change. Enjoy your New Years Eve. I'll be doing the same as you. Always do.

Tell me about it!! I've been trying to figure it out for years and I finally made the conclusion that they want to convince themselves that they're doing sth that not many of us can. According to them going out means that you've got
a)lots of friends and that in turn implies that they're "adorable" and "lovable" people
b)money thus, they're important people and not some "losers".
c)many good reasons to celebrate i.e they lead a happy life and everything in it is exactly as they've always wanted it to be.
Who do they think they're kidding?
You should be feeling sorry for them; not yourself.
Happy "indoor" New Year's Eve!!! ;)
