You didn't say if they were powered or not but I'll give it a shot any way.
Connect your speakers to a stereo (at low volume) if they don't work, check for power ( the power plug at the back of mine is a bit loose so it sometimes needs a little shake.) It's unlikely that all of your speakers are bad, so ensure that they are getting power.

If they work on the stereo, open the volume control of your computer (assuming your running xp) by double clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray, open options > properties and check all of the boxes. Then press ok . Now take a look at the volume levels, crank em all up and check for sound using any program you want to, just make sure that the volume level is up.
I had a similar problem after uninstalling a deejaying program, and this was the problem (front speakers were muted).
