In the 1970's we'd go see the new Pink Panther movie on night of Christmas Day

Yes. My father-in-law passed away that Christmas morning
and we took the kids to see a movie because most of the grownups (understandably) didn't feel like doing anything much.
I wouldn't mind it becoming a tradition, going to see movies on or near the holidays.

My family often goes to a movie on Christmas day. We have no small children and it is a nice diversion and gives us something to talk about together.

Yes, I have gone to see movies on Christmas Day. Sometimes we go because we don't have anything else to do because we're all done with our parties and opening gifts. I don't have a problem with it.

Never on Xmas day, but we went on Xmas eve this year for the first time.
I was a great way to distract the kids and keep them from begging to open gifts early.
I may consider it again next year too.

If there's a movie I really want to see, I have. Staying home gets a bit tedious after a while.
