Is this true? I had the media package and had to cancel it because Cingular says there is no way to access the internet or Yahoo IM with a phone that is unlocked

1) Go to Menu - Web Access - Web Sessions à New Entry

It's probably set up for a different network, all the networks have different data settings. You'd have to contact Cingulars data customer service. But I know from experience that if you buy a phone in the states, the data won't work on it i Canada.

Yes, unfortunately, this is true. In efforts to sell their own phones and make more money off of them, they encourage people not to buy their own unlocked phones and use it with their network. As a "penalty/disadvantage" of using your own unlocked phone with their network, they disable and/or are not able to provide these media services.

Thanks for using Yahoo! Answers and it was a pleasure serving you.
