During the fall of Berlin, Stalin became very obsessed in the capture of Hitler. Previous Russian intelligence showed that Hitler is in Berlin. Stalin issued an order to his generals to find Hitler dead or alive. When the Russians finally captured the bunker, Hitler by then was already dead, having committed suicide with his body burned on a crater in the Chancellery yard. What was left was only Hitler's unrecognizable and badly charred remains. The Russians of course weren't aware of this and went ahead searching the whole bunker and its vicinity, but didn't find Hitler. Finally, they were told by the remaining German staff who were captured inside the bunker of this fact. The Russians were then led to the spot where Hitler's charred remains lay. Stalin was then telephoned at the Kremlin. Stalin asked if it was Hitler. The Russians replied that they weren't sure because the body was totally charred and unrecognizable, but that the Germans said it was Hitler. Stalin, unconvinced and suspicious ordered the area cordoned-off. He then ordered forensic experts to be sent at once. The forensic experts arrived and examined the charred remains. But they didn't have any information on Hitler to where they can base their findings. They can only conclude that the height and stature resembles that of Hitler's, but nothing else. Finally, they agreed that only the dental structure on the skull of the remains can be used as basis for identification. They interrogated the German prisoners on how they could get hold of Hitler's dentist. Soon, Hitler's dentist was brought to the spot and examined the dental structure on the skull, then compared them to his file of Hitler's dental record. It was a match. Stalin was then informed that the charred body had been positively identified as that of Hitler's. Stalin then ordered the skull to be brought to Moscow. He then ordered everyone to keep this matter a secret, and anyone who dared to reveal this secret will be executed.

Stalin at a later time, used this secret to cheat on his American and British Allies. He encouraged to spread the rumour that Hitler was alive, that Hitler secretly surrendered to the Allies, and that the Allies betrayed him by keeping the surrender a secret from him. Stalin then openly accused the Allies of this betrayal in oder to strengthen his position on some outstanding issues discussed in the previous Yalta Conference. Of course, the Allies denied this and started to appease Stalin.

So that was the story. The doubts whether Hitler was really dead started from this rumours, which later became widespread.

BERLIN, Feb 13: Adolf Hitlers last secretary, who was in the Nazi leaders bunker when he committed suicide in 1945, has died just days after publishing her memoirs and making a film appearance, director Othmar Schmiderer said on Wednesday.

". . . 90-minute film that renounces all form of stylistic embellishment and instead relies entirely on the compelling force of this woman and her stunning tale. We learn that her experiences left her with a vehement hatred for the Nazi regime and ideology, though – and this is perhaps the most painful aspect of her very personal story – she still seems unable to forgive the young girl she once was for the naiveté and ignorance that led her to admire Hitler."

yes all indications are that he did swallow a cyanide pill and shot himself in the left (?) temple. there was a book written in the late 90s by a English and Russian scholar based on recently released ( at the time) KGB archives that seem to support these facts, additionally it is now known that the Kremlin had a piece of Hitlers skull with the bullet hole in it as confirmation that he did indeed commit suicide which was a big contention, that he would do such a thing since he Had previously espoused suicide as cowardly

Everyone seems to have forgotten the Japanese had developed the Atom bomb but, didn't have the "Heavy water" for it. The Germans, near the end of the war, were in fact sending the Heavy water plus other parts needed for the production of the Atom Bomb. Two submarines known to be carring (German U-boats) these parts were sunk in the Pacific by the British, headed for Japan. The Japanese also had cluster bombs that were of the incendiary type. They were made to float over the wind currents into the U.S. and then, with a barometer device, drop from hundreds of feet. These set off more then several forest fires in Oregon. The Japanese also developed a bomb specifically to bomb the Panama Canal and stop the deployment of shipping. The bomb was sent to the area but, the planes carrying it were shot down. The Japanese developed the Kamikaze pilots that had just enough training to get the plane in the air. They didn't even have landing wheels for them, it was truly a one way trip. I believe it was during the battle of Midway they used these planes to an effect. Toward the end of WW2 the Japanese had to go to wooden bullets due to shortages of supplies.

Oh sure, it's true, we still have hitler alive... He taught Rumsfeld about blitzkrieg and told him not to worry about insurgents in a country that posed no real threat. He also taught W. how to gain support for a war against a country that was no real threat to us... so he must be alive somewhere for the Bush Administration to follow his lead...oh yeah, and the holocaust never happened...that's a lie too...I read it on the internet.

lots of witnesses who were with Hitler in the final days have all confirmed the same thing, he firstly took the posion and as a precaution shot himself because it was himmler who had given him the posion and he had since discovered Himmler had betrayed him by seeking surrender to the allies. though his body was destroyed i have heard the soviets recovered his skull and still have it, but i don't know if there's much truth in it.
