Are the U.S. and USSR alike?

I know the U.S. is a democracy and the Soviet Union was communist but think about it the USSR used violence and terror to spread communism the U.S. uses violence and terror to spread democracies a good example the former Soviet Republics most of these countries are actually now worse of then they where when they where part of the USSR or just look at Iraq and what a mess that has turned into because the U.S. wanted it to be a democracy it just reminds me a lot of how the USSR spread across Eastern Europe and Asia what do you think?

Not only are we quite alike in the ways you have described, but I believe we have collaborated with each other to make the other nation look like a "threat", so that we can convinve our populations to continue to fund the huge military and weapons buildups that have lead to caches of weapons more than capable of destroying the earth.

The two are identical. Russia (no longer the USSR) just does a better job of controlling its media, though the U.S. is closing fast.

The two are no where near alike.
The short answer is this. I never saw people trying to sneak into the USSR. If the US is so bad why do millions try to come here. People want what we have, freedom and opportunity.

Yep. Both also cruelly and arrogantly -personnally attack the people who do not benefit from their driving idiologies as being "stupid", criminal, lazy etc - instead of recognising any failures of the economic system..

No.. i never think that they were alike.. they competed for world power and space power but thats bout it.
