I have a wooden coffee table and the screws keep becoming loose after I tighten them. Would buying all new screws for the whole thing fix the problem? The coffee table is only about 4 or 5 years old and I don't have the same problem with the end tables. Any advice is welcomed.

If these are screws that drill directly into wood, then use wood glue. The toothpick idea is a good one. You may have to place a dab of glue to the mating parts also.

If these are machine screws that screw into metal grommets, then use Loc-tite on the threads. You still might want to add a dab of glue to the mating parts too. Remember that Loc-tite is quite permanent, so make sure they are as tight as you will ever want them to be.

U could put a little wood glue on the screws before putting them back in, but if they're really loose then buy a little bigger screws & put glue on them too.

hardware store.
Product: loctite.
or a dab of just about any glue in the hole and replace the screws.
you could also use a size larger screw,
if there is no metal around the hole(with glue).

Washers
Use the glue as well, this is a good suggestion but you should also add a flat washer and a lock washer before re-installing the screws. I am certain you will have no more problems

Simple trick, take the screws out, and fill the holes with broken toothpicks. This gives the screws some "meat", wood to dig into. Happy New Years.

Put some wood glue in the threads before screwing in, then wipe off the excess after tightening the screw.

wood glue, or try this fix that i just saw on hgtv... take a toothpick or two and coat in wood glue. put in the screw hole and break off at surface level. allow to dry overnight and it's just like drilling into new wood!
