If you just cleaned the tank give it a few days before doing anything else. The good bacteria growth in the tank will cause a cloudy look.

2 Over feeding can cause a cloudy look.

How often do you feed the fish. how many fish are in the tank and what kind of fish? how big is the tank? all these questions will need to be answered in order to give you the proper answer

Your tank may have "new tank syndrome" but you have not describe it here other than your tank is somewhat new. Green cloudy water can happen at any age in an aquarium, as long as there is dissolved nitrogen in the water in some form such as ammonia, nitrite or nitrate, also along with this there is usuallly the presence of phosphate at the begining of the green water formation. The presence of the nitrogen and possible phosphat there is the most critical ingredient, light, artificial from your tank lights or natural sunlight. What you have is a unicellular form of algae, it looks horrible but it is not hurting your fish, it feeds from the chemicals above combine with light and form oxygen, so obviously this isn't bad. However you can't see your fish through the green soup, and whats the point of having a fish tank if you can't see the fish? The cure is simple, effective and won't cost you a penny. No new filtration is needed, and no chemicals are needed. First do a 50% water change, then cover the tank with a blanket, towel dark colored sheet, something that will completely block out the light, for four days, the fish won't mind the darkness at all, uncover it just to feed the fish, the darkness is really important, after 4-5 days uncover your fish tank and change 50% of the water again and you should have a perfectly clear aquarium.

Changing things will make it worse. Is it white cloudy, black cloudy or green cloudy?

White is a bacteria bloom from the water source. Don't change the water any more, each time you do you'll make it worse by giving fresh breeding grounds. Use Hagan B-Clear in combination with polywool in the filter. (or equivalent product.)

Green cloudy is an algae bloom and its the same with for doing water changes as a bacteria bloom. Treat like a bacteria bloom.

Black or Brown or Grey cloudy is either new tank syndrome (you haven't let your tank cycle long enough before adding fish), from cleaning (you stirred up the gravel after not cleaning it for too long), excess organic waste (you over feed your fish or don't clean enough) or your fish have diarhea. Use Hagan P-Clear in combination with polywool in the filter, also use Cycle and Waste Control and take better care of your tank in the future.

fish food can make water cloudy (sometimes even if it says it won't) try to not let fish food just float down to the bottom and rot.. (i give my fish about 2-4 minutes to eat and then remove what is left over) also if your tank is overstocked or if your filter isnt the right size for your tank...

The water is so cloudy because the fish does poop so it changes colors or just gets to the piont where you can't see anything .

Thats because your tank hasn't completed it's cycling process. The cloudy water is due to a bacterial bloom. Search the web for cycling of a new tank and nitrogen cycle.

Start here : http://www.totallyfish.com/tips/cloudywa... and http://faq.thekrib.com/begin-cycling.htm...

Hopes this help.
