Most of the time, I let it go. It's a waste of time to even pay attention to it. But just like any human being, sometimes it gets to me and I make sure that the offender hears it from me (hoping he'll think 10 times before doing it to someone again).

I agree with Handyman's answer. I have done that too. Not give the offender the reaction he is trying to elicit from me. Give a blank stare and look away.

I ignore it the first time & often the second but if it happens a third time, I'll take them aside for a conversation to see what offense I might have given that produced such a negative response from their quarter. Without communication, there can be no resolution.

I usually try to talk it out, sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't,more than likely I Will just move on and forget about it.I don't offend easily, some people do and that is there problem I could really care less.

There are so many ways to offend.
From "farts in the seat in front of me" - which ilicits a physical recoil reaction from me because I do NOT want other people to think it was ME cutting it....

to...

Insults someone I love, which turns me into a female tiger mom protecting her cubs, and I OVERreact to that!

It really depends on my mood and the person as well as the offense. It is possible for me to ignore it and move on. But it is also just as likely that violence will ensue.

Act as unoffended as possible and retort something back at them....COLDLY. Chances are, they'll be more taken aback than you were.
You have to get to a point in your life where you expect this kind of crap out of people!

Ignore them, it takes a lot more than words to upset me

Ignore it as if it didn't happen, if it was accidental, then it's no biggie at all. If it was intentional, they want to see you react to it.

Stare real hard at them to make sure if they're civilized people and then move on.
