We want to honor some old fashioned family names from Great-grandparents. I don't know which of the 4 is best. Opinions?

harlan or abner are my favorite!

I would say that Harlan or Hazard are the two choices that would keep the kid from being made fun of too much. Still, in todays world names are outrageous anyways, so maybe it won't even matter.
Hazard is a cool name, but not really for a first name.
Harlan would be a good first name, would give him the nicname of Harley.
I also think there is a reason the names Elmer and Abner are no longer popular names ( Lil Abner comics and Elmer Fudd come to mind).

I definitely vote for Harlan with the nickname Harley - very cute. I am not a fan of Elmer or Abner. Maybe Hazard as a middle name.

Harlan is definately the best. You also have to think about him growing up. He is more likely to get made fun of if he has the name Elmer or Abner. Maybe put one of those names as a middle name.

Unfortunately I don't like any of them. If you definitely want one of them, maybe useit in a middle name. I would say Harlan for a middle name - abner is much too old manish, hazard just reminds me of dukes of hazard, and elmer is the name of glue,...
