I should have said that I'm talking about TV shows from the late 40's thru the early 60's. I vaguely remember Howdy Doody, You Are There and a few westerns. What do you remember from those years, those of you old enough to remember them?

I remember "Queen for a Day" - Howdy Doody - Dick Van Dyke Show - the original Twilight Zone - Topper - Lucy & Desi (don't remember the name of that) - Miss Francis' Ding Dong School.
No sex, little violence, no swearing - TV's didn't need a "V" chip - now those were the days!!

How early? The question is pretty vague so I will go with early for me, I remember alot of the old shows I used to watch as a kid, but the funniest memory was how I was convinced Punky Brewster was cancelled because I didn't watch it one week, I watched it every week but I had to miss it one night and the next week it never came on! So it was my fault. =)

Alan Ludden on "Password" is one of my favorites. I loved "Name That Tune" when I was little. Also, "What's My Line", "Truth or Consequences" (Bob Barker) I also loved to watch "Shock Theatre", "DuPont Theatre", "Friday Night Fights", original wrestling (Haystacks Calhoun), "Amos & Andy", "Texaco Star Theatre" (Milton Berle), the "Ed Sullivan Show" (Beatles and Elvis).
