How Come China is Ranked 18th? didnt they win the Silver in the Recent Asian Games

The simple reason could be the Asian Games are not a point qualifying tournie for the rankings or they are gearing up for the Olympics and only recently have had good results, so on a point based system it will take time for them to move up in the standings.There is an explanation of the ranking system (link below) but it isn't the best.

Everyone else is talking ice hockey, as North Americans refer to ice hockey as hockey, and you are talking field hockey to North Americans.

The highest rank China or any nation that isn't the Russian Federation will ever get is second because nothing can beat the Russians in hockey! Ha ha...

I think they take other things into account besides the "Recent Asian Games." If they got silver, that means that someone else beat them and they got gold, and then remember that many other non-Asian nations are counted in this...not just the Asian ones that China beat in those games.

china shouldn't be in the top 50. high school teams in michagan and western new york would beat them 3/5 games. who did they beat in the asian games? japan and indonesia?
